Situated at 10km west of Bordeaux in the Aquitaine department, the Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport is France’s fifth busiest regional airport complex. Over 80 destinations are served by direct flights and Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport handles 4 million passengers a year. Covering a total area of 47 600 m², the Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport has three terminals. One is for domestic flights and another is for ‘bili’ (Bordeaux illico) flights, which are low-cost flights that offer a simplified, yet much cheaper service. In addition to ample parking situated close to the airport building, Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport also has twenty-odd shops, free high speed internet access in its departure lounges as well as restaurants and bars in the public zones of its departure hall.
